Providence Supporting People

In light of recent government cuts, it has become more and more difficult to access funding for drug and alcohol rehab. At The Providence Projects, we are speaking to families on a daily basis who want help for a loved one but are unable to afford drug and alcohol rehab.

The Providence Projects have endeavored to keep prices as low as possible and in fact are able to offer the most affordable 28 day programme in the UK.

The Providence Projects have been instrumental in the forming of Providence Supporting People which was initially formed in response to the national cuts in funding for treatment of addictive disorders, provision of housing for vulnerable people and family support services with the aim of providing essential help to those most in need.

The ultimate aim of Providence Supporting People is to assist those suffering from addiction, who want help, in becoming drug and alcohol free and in maintaining an independent healthy lifestyle.

The need for this is currently not being met as statutory funding continues to be poured into prescribing treatments whereby people are simply put on to another drug or a controlled drinking regime. This is not the choice of these people but simply all they have been offered.

In order to be able to provide this sort of service Providence Supporting People is raising funds to assist in this process while also offering great support with re-integration, housing and on-going support.

So often, those who are fortunate to receive help with their addiction are simply re-housed in unsuitable environments with high prevalence of drug using and dealing which obviously has a detrimental affect on their chances of success. All research clearly demonstrates longevity of treatment has a direct relationship with successful outcomes.
