The drug rehabilitation programmes are split into several stages at The Providence Projects. The Primary treatment phase for drug addiction will take between 4 and 12 weeks depending on your history, current situation and treatment needs.
Once you have successfully completed this phase of your rehab programme, you will have the option of moving into the secondary treatment phase of the drug rehab programme which can also last anything from 4 weeks up to 12 weeks.
The primary goal of the secondary treatment programme is to assist you in your reintegration back into the real world. You will still have a clearly structured treatment programme but the level of support is slightly less as we encourage you to take small steps in practicing the skills learnt during the previous stages of your addiction treatment programme.
Helping you re-integrate
During this phase you will continue working with your focal therapist on the issues that had been identified in the earlier stages of treatment as well as group therapy sessions, affirmations, family therapy and high level support in helping you make on-going plans with regard to work, education and accommodation depending on your individual circumstances.
Due to financial and often practical constraints, we understand that this stage of the drug rehab process is not viable for everyone but all evidence clearly demonstrates that the longer the treatment, the more chance there is of achieving long term recovery from drug addiction. Many of our successful graduates state that the secondary treatment was an essential ingredient in the success of their long term recovery.
Our secondary treatment programme is available to successful graduates of our primary drug rehab programme but also those who have successfully completed programmes at other facilities. If you have been in a drug rehab programme in the UK or abroad and would benefit from on-going treatment, this secondary phase could be the next step in your recovery journey.
